Why was Goudy Career Service created?

When pondering about people in general, the owner (Diane Goudy) thought about the specific needs individuals and businesses have in relation to their personal and professional lives. Because I had been a life-long business teacher for years, I was very familiar with areas that needed "polishing". I knew individuals are NOT born knowing . . .

-- how to look for jobs and actually create employment documents and an online presence.

-- how to make post-secondary plans, decide on types of training, apply for scholarships and more.

-- knows how to effectively use the Internet and their own computer (including software).

-- knows how to communicate at the level they wish, provide excellent customer service, knows the 21st century skills required to be successful employees, as well as varied office skills.

--has the time, the ability, or the interest to complete specific projects.

The time was right. I did it. I took the opportunity to change "gears" from my very enjoyable and fulfilling teaching career of many years to help others in another way. I decided to create Goudy Career Service.

What is the company's goal? To be a resource for students, employees, organizations, schools and businesses to increase their effectiveness by customizing solutions to match their goals . . . to be a contact for direct help.

What type of relationships exist between the owner and the client? The win-win relationship is built as the client's personal goals are being met. The owner is a resource to help the client -- skills are taught and discussions are held. There is a very positive tone to all interactions. There is dignity -- regardless of the level of competence --beginners through advanced. There is confidentiality. There is frequent checking for knowledge and understanding so the rate of interaction can be appropriate. Questions can always be asked. Continued honest dialogue helps the relationship grow and achieve goals. Customized solutions create results!
